St. Peter’s Church is the parish church of Bromyard. There’s been a church on this site since at least the 8th Century and the present building still largely dates from Norman times. It’s the largest building in Bromyard and the only one Grade 1 listed. The church continues to be used by the wider community for many and varied purposes, both spiritual and secular. Also, of course, it is home to a worshipping community, meeting Sunday by Sunday. And we run a range of activities at other times and in other places. Details of all these events and activities can be found on this website.
What kind of church?
St. Peter’s seeks above all to be a caring and a serving church. Many visitors comment at the warmth of the welcome they receive. And we seek to support and care for not only one another but also friends, neighbours, all the wider community.
Our services, six in a typical month, range from traditional Book of Common Prayer Holy Communion with hymns accompanied on the organ, to informal worship led by a music band. Preaching and teaching from the Bible are an important foundation of our life and witness. Openness to the ministry of the Holy Spirit means that we seek to listen and encourage the exercise of spiritual gifts in our services. And we look for practical relevance through our worship and teaching.
